Mario's Galactic Adventure Teaser Arrives, Unveiling Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voice Cast
Nintendo alongside Illumination shared the first full-length trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on Wednesday. The reveal happened in a Nintendo-focused broadcast that focused exclusively on the soon-to-release cartoon movie.
The sequel to the successful 2023 release The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will propel Mario to the distant reaches of the universe. Along the way, he discovers a different royal figure and a formidable new rival in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.
A Cosmic Adventure Inspired by Classic Games
Similar to the Wii-era games that serve as its inspiration, Mario will depart from the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. On his epic voyage, he will meet again some well-known personalities, for instance the Luma, a breakout star from the original cinematic release.
But it appears Mario and his brother Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who apparently utilizes powers related to metal. Notably, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also features references to additional popular titles like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
All-Star Vocal Ensemble Reprise Roles and Welcome Newcomers
The movie will welcome back of the initial voice actors, featuring Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Fresh faces in the lineup for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will bring to life Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. It was announced by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination.
A Big Year for Mario
Mario's latest cinematic adventure is planned to debut around the time of the 40-year celebration of the original Super Mario Bros. game. In addition to the movie, 2026 promises to be a important time for Mario and his allies.
Nintendo has a set of three fresh titles officially announced for the upcoming year, such as Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a fresh Yoshi side-scroller titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
Release Date Confirmed
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially set to be released on April 3, 2026.
