Aircraft Spins Wildly into Palm Groves at Popular California Coast
A helicopter flying near a crowded southern California beach abruptly commenced twirling out of control, eventually dropping height and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as beachgoers looked on.
Footage uploaded on social media capture the helicopter starting to spin over the beach then descending near the perimeter of the coast, where it gets stuck among palm groves and a staircase near the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Details
Emergency responders reported five persons were rushed to the hospital comprising two individuals who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the crash on that day.
Three individuals on the road were hurt. Information on their injuries were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
